Out On Campus Collective Meeting Minutes
November 15, 2005
Present: Eric, Mallory, Wynde, Mike, Jeff, Megan, Wanli, Andrina, Angela, Veronique, Jen, Nigel.
1) Rounds, Roles
2) Committee Updates
Website - Karl e-mailed the list for volunteers again. Thanks Karl.
T-Shirt Committee - Needs some follow up?
3) The Good, the Bad, and the Femme
Burlesque group Stilettos & Strap On. Kate was here to speak for us. This is a fundraiser for the “Little Sisters Legal Defense Fund”. Collective decided to donate $150 to the group from the honoraria budget. The cheque will be made out to Kate.
4) Book Buy
The Book Buy (!) will be Friday, December 2nd at 3PM. We will meet at Little Sisters.
To participate in The Book Buy (!) you will need to be a current OOC member. You will need to RSVP to Jeff if you want to participate, and collective decided to cap the book buy group to 15 to keep it manageable. Request for books will need to be in by December 1st. Requests can be sent to Jeff/ooc-info, put in the big gay book request box, or put up on The Book Buy request poster Mike plans on making. Jeff will get the cheque cut for the book buy in the amount of $1, 385. We will purchase the books with his debit card.
So far…Wanli, Veronique, Wynde, and Jeff are attending.
5) SASC Workshops
Just a quick reminder! The SASC workshops are tomorrow.
6) NO TALENT SHOW IS TONIGHT!
Yay! There is a lot of food.
7) Conference
Jeff wants to attend the 2006 Canadian University Queer Services Conference in Ottawa. Issues such as funding, marketing, volunteer management, increased campus presence, and community development will be explored. Jeff has forwarded the request to the SFSS.
8) Jeff Is On Vacation
Jeff is on vacation from December 13th to December 20th. It’s a free for all at OOC.
9) Volunteer Party
Our VOLUNTEER PARTY is December 2nd after our book buy! We are going bowling at Granville Lanes! The volunteer party is RSVP, because Jeff will need to know how many people to pay for! We may go out for dinner first! After….dance, dance, dance party! Somewhere (to be discussed)!
10) Pub Night!
OOC is taking over Pub Night on November 24th! We will all meet there, and have fun! Bring your own money for beer.
11) Button Maker
OOC wants its own button maker. We will use our equipment budget to do this, to a total of $256 dollars. Jeff will look for a good, sturdy, sexy button maker!
12) Living Positive Magazine
BCPWA magazine subscription is due. It is by donation (25 minimum) and collective decided that we will donate $50 from our honoraria budget!
